Mindful observation and photography of the outside world
make me think about the boundaries - real and imagined -
between humans and other existences.
In creating mixed media sculpture from humble materials
(cellulose, paper, pigment, encaustic wax and found objects),
I imagine a being that isn’t circumscribed by social convention.
Inside and outside merge, genders coexist, and the boundary
between organic and inorganic existence is blurred.
